Jonny Harris has appeared regularly at The Halifax Comedy Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, CBC Radio’s Madly Off in All Directions and The Debaters. He has appeared as both a stand-up and sketch comic at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival. He has been a guest writer for the award-winning This Hour has 22 Minutes and was a contributing writer and star of Mary Walsh’s Hatching, Matching and Dispatching. Jonny was a founding member of St. John’s sketch comedy troupe ‘The Dance Party of Newfoundland’, winners of the 2007 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival’s ‘Best of the Fest’ award. His one man show Out of the Bog, directed by Andy Jones, has enjoyed success from St. John’s to Victoria. Harris did more dramatic turn for the feature film Grown Up Movie Star, with which he attended the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Harris currently plays Constable George Crabtree on CityTV’s crime-drama The Murdoch Mysteries, for which he has garnered two Gemini nominations for best supporting-lead in a dramatic series. He currently stars in an award winning TV show that Jonny developed himself called “Still Standing”, that first aired in 2015. It has gone on to win Canadian Screen awards for “Best Host in a Lifestyle Series” and “Best writing in a Factual TV Show”.
