Mark DeBonis Bio

Mark DeBonis is a comic to watch. Mark took the plunge into stand up in 2008, since then he has appeared at Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, won The 2011 Great Canadian Laugh Off and a 2010 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Stand-up Newcomer. He was also nominated for the Tim Sim’s Encouragement Fund Award in 2009 and was a finalist in SiriusXM Canada’s search for the Next Top Comic. He is also the host and producer of numerous successful comedy shows in his hometown of Toronto.
He has performed across North America and made multiple appearances at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Brantford Comedy Festival and the Kitchener-Waterloo Comedy Festival.
He has appeared on Much Music’s Much On Demand, BiteTV’s Stand Up & Bite Me, The Comedy Network and Sun TV. DeBonis had a principal role in the award-winning feature film “Picture Day” with Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), where he got to walk the red carpet for the world premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Mark can be seen/heard on CBC’s “Accent on Toronto”, CBC’s “The Debaters” Much Music, Comedy Network, and his Comedy Special filmed for I-Channels “No Kidding”.
