Jonny Harris Bio
Jonny Harris is the creator and host of the hit CBC TV show “Still Standing”, winner of the 2016 and 2017 Canadian Screen Award for Best Factual Series and in 2017 also won a CSA for Best Writing and Host of a Lifestyle program series.
Still Standing is a hilarious, irreverent and affectionate adventure into small towns celebrating the people who proudly choose to call those towns home.
The show follows Jonny Harris as he journeys cross-country to explore small towns on the ropes and to meet the locals who remain fiercely loyal to them. By immersing himself in the adventure of their everyday lives, Jonny comes to understand their passion for these places.
In each community, he mines enough material to put on an original stand-up comedy routine for the locals. The light-hearted roast pays homage to his hosts and shows us that no matter what types of hardships Canadians may face in this vast country, there’s warmth, spirit, and most of all, a good laugh to be had.
Harris also currently plays Constable George Crabtree on CBC’s crime-drama “The Murdoch Mysteries”, for which he has garnered two Gemini nominations for best supporting-lead in a dramatic series.
His comedy has been showcased in every medium and at the highest levels across the country.
Jonny Harris has appeared regularly at The Halifax Comedy Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, CBC Radio’s Madly Off in All Directions and The Debaters. He has appeared as both a stand-up and sketch comic at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival and has been a guest writer for the award-winning This Hour has 22 Minutes.
