Ali Hassan Bio

Ali Hassan is a Canadian Television and Radio personality, known both for his role as the regular host of Laugh Out Loud on CBC Radio One and SiriusXM – a show with a listenership of over 1 million people – and as the Lead Comedy Panelist on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight on CBC Television, filming over 160 episodes between 2012 and 2014.

He was a Canadian Comedy Award Nominee for “Best Breakout Artist”, and as a Stand-Up Comedian he has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, Toronto’s JFL42, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival, the first festival of its kind to be held in the Middle East.

He is known for his improvisational abilities with audiences as well as for his charm and wit. His comedy routines tackle everything from food to culture to his introduction to parenthood – which is encapsulated in his One Man Show called FROM ZERO TO HERO, a comedic journey of a single man becoming a father of 3 children in less than two years (and now its 4 children!).

Ali has also graced the big screen in 3 award-winning films: Breakaway, French Immersion and most memorably as the Lebanese “Uncle Stevie” opposite Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel and Eugene Levy in the hockey hit GOON! You can find him on TV right now as a recurring character on PBS Kids’ ODD SQUAD and FXX’s Man Seeking Woman, and on the upcoming YTV show The Game!
