Ben's first time on stage was as 'fresh meat' in the first round at a Yuk-Yuk's amateur competition where he surprised everyone by winning and advancing to the city finals.

After winning the Home-Grown Competition in Hamilton, Ben Mathai showcased at the international Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal as an up-and-coming stand-up comedian.
He was featured on the Toronto show and is currently taping a television pilot.
